Generator Repair

Won't start, cycling, throwing codes or not transferring? We fix the electrical and controls side of all three brands.

Signs you need it

  • Error code on the display
  • Ran fine last year, won't start now
  • It transfers, but the house stays dark
  • Low battery warning

How the install goes

  1. Read the codes, check battery, oil, fuel and connections
  2. Fix the electrical side, controller to transfer switch
  3. Loop in the dealer for engine work
  4. Run a full test transfer

What moves the price

  • Whole-home backup or essentials only
  • Generator kW, or battery kWh and unit count
  • Gas line (by a licensed plumber) and concrete pad
  • Transfer switch or gateway type, and where it mounts
  • Tying in existing solar
  • Permit fees, plus utility interconnection for batteries

Permits for backup power

Generators and batteries need a permit and inspection. Batteries add a utility interconnection application, approved at the utility's pace. We file it, line up gas work, and itemize the fees.

Backup power questions

Do you repair generator engines?

No, just the electrical and controls side. We coordinate engine work with the brand's service network.

Why did my generator battery die?

Probably age. Generator batteries last about three years, so swap them on a schedule.

Do you charge for the quote?

No. An electrician looks at the job in person and quotes it, free.
