Dimmers
LED-rated dimmers that stop the flicker, including three-way and smart ones.
Signs it's time
- LEDs flickering or buzzing on an old dimmer
- Lights too bright after dinner
- Two switches, one light, no dimmer
- You'd like scenes and schedules
How the job goes
- Match dimmer to bulb type and load
- Swap the switch, set the low-end trim
- Program smart dimmers together
- Test each bulb on the circuit
What moves the price
- Number of fixtures, devices or spots
- Power nearby, or a new circuit
- Ceilings, walls, attic access, patching
- Your fixtures or ours
- Permits: usually for new circuits, usually not for straight swaps
Permits for this work
Straight swaps usually need no permit. New circuits and outdoor, hot tub, pool, heat pump or range wiring usually do. The fee shows on your quote.

Questions we hear
Why does my dimmer buzz with LED bulbs?
It's not rated for LEDs. Swap in one that is.
Can a ceiling fan light be dimmed?
Yes, the light. The motor needs a fan control, not a dimmer.
Do you charge for the quote?
No. An electrician looks at the job in person and quotes it, free.
