Light Fixture & Chandelier Install
Chandeliers, pendants and sconces, hung on boxes built for the weight.
Signs it's time
- A fixture still in its shipping box
- A chandelier over the stairs or a two-story entry
- A fixture too heavy for the old box
- Pendants planned over the island
How the job goes
- Check the box rating and wires
- Add a brace or heavy box if needed
- Hang and wire it, dimmer optional
- Level it, test it, tidy up
What moves the price
- Number of fixtures, devices or spots
- Power nearby, or a new circuit
- Ceilings, walls, attic access, patching
- Your fixtures or ours
- Permits: usually for new circuits, usually not for straight swaps
Permits for this work
Straight swaps usually need no permit. New circuits and outdoor, hot tub, pool, heat pump or range wiring usually do. The fee shows on your quote.
