What moves the price
- Panel-to-parking distance, and attic or finished walls in the way

- Panel space, or load management or an upgrade instead
- Hardwired charger or a 14-50 outlet
- Permit fees, which vary by city
Permits for EV chargers
Most cities require a permit and inspection for an EV charger circuit, and the fee goes on your quote. The utility stays out of it. Rebates come and go, so check your utility or ask us.

EV charger questions
Why an industrial-grade 14-50 outlet?
Durability. A standard 14-50 is built for a range, not daily plugging. Heavy-duty ones hold up.
Can I charge at 48 amps on an outlet?
No. Outlets top out at 40 amps continuous. Hardwire for 48.
Do you charge for the quote?
No. An electrician looks at the job in person and quotes it, free.
