EV Charger Repair & Replacement

For chargers that fault, trip, charge slowly or took a surge. We test the circuit and charger, then repair or replace.

Signs you're ready

  • Red fault light on the charger
  • Breaker trips when charging starts
  • Charging slower than it used to
  • Discolored or melted 14-50 outlet

How the install goes

  1. Test the circuit, outlet and breaker
  2. Check charger diagnostics and the app
  3. Repair wiring or replace the unit
  4. Add surge protection if the panel lacks it

What moves the price

  • Panel-to-parking distance, and attic or finished walls in the way
  • Amperage: 40 amp circuit for most, 60 amps for 48 amp charging
  • Panel space, or load management or an upgrade instead
  • Hardwired charger or a 14-50 outlet
  • Permit fees, which vary by city

Permits for EV chargers

Most cities require a permit and inspection for an EV charger circuit, and the fee goes on your quote. The utility stays out of it. Rebates come and go, so check your utility or ask us.

EV charger questions

Is my EV charger under warranty?

Probably. Most carry a three-year manufacturer warranty. We help file the claim and install the replacement.

Why did my EV charger outlet melt?

Usually a residential-grade outlet doing a daily-charging job. We swap in an industrial-grade one.

Do you charge for the quote?

No. An electrician looks at the job in person and quotes it, free.
