Smart Thermostats

A smart thermostat learns your routine and dodges peak rates. We add a C-wire if needed.

Signs it's time

  • A thermostat that only knows on and off
  • Time-of-use rates from your utility
  • A thermostat with no C-wire
  • A rebate offer from the utility

How the job goes

  1. Check HVAC wiring, add a C-wire if needed
  2. Mount and set up the thermostat
  3. Get it on Wi-Fi
  4. Build the schedule together

What moves the price

  • Number of fixtures, devices or spots
  • Power nearby, or a new circuit
  • Ceilings, walls, attic access, patching
  • Your fixtures or ours
  • Permits: usually for new circuits, usually not for straight swaps

Permits for this work

Straight swaps usually need no permit. New circuits and outdoor, hot tub, pool, heat pump or range wiring usually do. The fee shows on your quote.

Questions we hear

Does a smart thermostat need a C-wire?

Usually. Most want one, so we run it or add an adapter.

Are there smart thermostat rebates?

Sometimes. Check your utility's current offers, or ask us where to look.

Do you charge for the quote?

No. An electrician looks at the job in person and quotes it, free.
