Urgent Electrical Problems
24/7 help for no power, burning smells or sparks, and what to do while you wait.
Signs it's more than a fluke
- Whole house dark, and the utility says it isn't them
- Burning smell, smoke or scorch marks at an outlet or panel
- Sparks, arcing or a loud buzz at the panel
- Water inside the panel or on live wires
What we do when we get there
- If you see flames or smoke that does not stop, call 911 first
- Shut off that circuit's breaker, or the main if unsure
- Call us and describe it; we'll say if it can safely wait
- Urgent calls jump the line when there's an opening, and we'll be straight about timing
What moves the price
- One device, or wiring inside the walls
- Access: attic, crawlspace, or drywall to open and patch
- Age and type of your wiring and panel
- Whether a permit is required
- Parts: same-for-same, or upgraded to current code
Permits for repair work
Like-for-like repairs usually skip permits. Panel swaps, new circuits and inspection fixes usually need one.
