Who Synchrony is

Synchrony Financial is one of the largest issuers of store and promotional credit cards in the country. It is based in Stamford, Connecticut and was spun off from GE Capital in 2014.

The Synchrony HOME card is issued by Synchrony Bank. Once you have it, you can use it again with other participating home contractors and retailers.

What you get

A revolving credit card, not a loan. It has no annual fee. Purchases can come with promotional financing, and most promotions are deferred interest: no interest if the promo balance is paid in full by the end of the promo period.

How it works with Chief Electric

  1. We build your written quote
  2. You prequalify with Synchrony; Synchrony says prequalifying does not affect your credit score
  3. If you accept, you complete the full application and get a decision
  4. We charge the job to your Synchrony HOME card
  5. We do the work
  6. You pay Synchrony monthly

Before you sign

  • On deferred-interest promos, making only the minimum payment may not pay the balance off before the promo ends. If it isn't paid in full, interest from the purchase date is added.
  • The card has a standard purchase APR that applies after any promo. It is in your card agreement.
  • You can reuse the card on later projects, subject to your credit limit.

Paying after the job

Payments go to Synchrony Bank, not to Chief Electric, through the MySynchrony app or online account. Synchrony HOME customer service is 1-844-335-5909.

Other lenders we work with

All financing is subject to credit approval by the lender. Chief Electric is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. Rates, terms and availability are set by Synchrony and its lending partners and can change; your loan, card or lease agreement controls. Synchrony is a trademark of its owner. Chief Electric is an independent contractor.
